The Fast Forward

Several times a week, I produce The Fast Forward. In the morning, I work with the assignment desk, read the latest press releases, and talk to producers and reporters to decide what stories need to be covered. Then, I put together two rundowns for The Fast Forward live cut-ins, which are two five-minute segments that run at 12:22pm and 12:52pm.

I research, fact-check, and write the anchor copy, ensuring I have the latest information. I source and edit video and create graphics and fonts with The Fast Forward style. Using Dalet, I edit video from our photographers and reporters in the field, edit weather packages, and select the most impactful soundbites for SOTVO’s. I synthesize interviews and turn press releases, police statements, legal documents, and research studies into clear and compelling copy that resonates with our viewers.

When it goes live, I’m in the booth with my headset on, talking to the anchor and keeping track of time.
